How do you feed your soul? Explore the three spiritual elements that make us human—animal, creative, and noble souls—how to keep them in balance, and how these aspects shape everything from our basic desires to our connection with the Divine. From honoring traditions to resisting temptation, reveal how Jewish rituals and traditions nourish the soul and give life a sense of meaning and purpose.

Big Ideas
  1. Our souls are given to us by God and contain a part of God.
  2. Our souls have different parts (animal, creative, and noble) with different needs.
  3. Many aspects of Jewish practice are aimed at refining our behavior to nourish our “higher” soul.
Essential Questions
  1. What is a soul and how is it related to God?
  2. What are the different aspects or attributes of our souls?
  3. How do we nourish our soul?

Funding for this program is being provided through a grant from the Mayberg Foundation, The Zalik Foundation Fund, and The Weisfeld Family Charitable Foundation. This project is in partnership with the Jewish Education Innovation Challenge.
