Why did we end this series about the Ten Commandments with the first Commandment, “I am the Lord Your God?” The term “God” carries with it millennia of baggage, making it hard to talk about. God is an innately personal experience, and in this episode we share how to experience God in your day-to-day life. As this series comes to an end, we challenge all of you to find a small way to incorporate one of the ideas shared about the Ten Commandments into your everyday life.

Big Ideas
  • Belief in God is to realize that ultimately we can never fully be in complete control.
  • It is important to practice a healthy balance of faith (bitachon) and human effort (hishtadlut).
  • Developing clear and realistic goals when inspired increases the chance that we will follow through with them long term.
Essential Questions
  • How can we balance both having faith (bitachon) and practicing human effort (hishtadlut) in our lives?
  • How can we translate our inspiration when we learn new things into manageable takeaways?
