Unpacked for Educators Takes Los Angeles

Over eight jam-packed days, our team traveled across Los Angeles to lead in-person workshops, student assemblies, and educator sessions all focused on unpacking Israel and Jewish identity with nuance, empathy, and clarity.

From classrooms to auditoriums, we had the privilege of engaging with over 1,300 students and educators at 17 schools and institutions across the city. We held thought provoking, meaningful sessions including ‘Seeing Israel Through the Arts’, ‘Unpacking Current Events’, and ‘Israeli Innovations Changing the World.’ Everywhere we went, we met communities eager for thoughtful, honest, and empowering conversations about Israel and the Jewish world.

Launching the Third Cohort of the LA Teen Leadership Fellowship

A major highlight of the tour was launching the newest cohort of the Unpacked Teen Leadership Fellowship, our flagship program for Jewish high schoolers who want to dig deeper into Israel, identity, and leadership. Our 2025-2026 cohort welcomed fifteen fellows from 7 different schools across the Los Angeles area.

In a world where everyone has something to say about politics, protests, Zionism, antisemitism, and identity, teens often feel overwhelmed by the noise. The Fellowship creates a different kind of space. A place where students can stop, learn, listen, and understand.

Open to Jewish 11th and 12th graders, the Fellowship brings together teens who are willing to ask big questions, explore complex stories, and grow into curious, confident leaders in their communities.

When students gain real knowledge and learn the nuances behind Israeli history and current events, their connection to Israel becomes more meaningful — and they’re empowered to share that knowledge with others. Meeting this year’s LA cohort and beginning the journey together was a powerful moment for our team.

Thank You to The Jewish Federation Los Angeles and Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles

This tour was made possible thanks to the generous support of The Jewish Federation Los Angeles and the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. We’re deeply grateful for their partnership and their commitment to strengthening Israel education throughout the city. Together, we’re ensuring that students and educators have access to thoughtful, balanced, and empowering resources.
