With the U.S. presidential election approaching, there will be increased pressure on students to identify themselves with a particular candidate. Students will often hear claims such as “if you care about X issue, then you need to support Y candidate.” And while there are many topics that can generate these claims, these resources will focus on one: support for Israel.

As you attempt to guide students through this tense time we, at Unpacked for Educators, want to give you resources to break down these dichotomies about support for Israel and help students have productive conversations about multiple perspectives.

The resources are divided into two parts. Part A provides educators with an opportunity to explore the idea that “there is no one way to be a Zionist” and how that plays out in the U.S. election. Part B investigates productive approaches to disagreement in Judaism and the general world.
