Exploring the Story, the People, and the Promise of Israel
Grade Level: 2-7
Objective: This program helps students explore Israel through its people, its founding values, and its shared sense of hope and belonging. Using Unpacked Junior videos as a starting point, students turn their learning into collaborative exhibits and experience one another’s work in a school-wide Yom Ha’atzmaut gallery walk.
How It Works: Each grade explores a different aspect of Israel through a short mini-lesson using Unpacked for Educators resources and creates one piece of a larger collaborative exhibit. In the days leading up to Yom Ha’atzmaut, partner grades assemble their displays. On Yom Ha’atzmaut, students rotate through the exhibits and encounter each facet of Israel’s story.
