The emails started pouring in: “Mi ke’amcha Yisrael!” (Who is like the Jewish people!). “Wow, such an inspiring story.” My parents and their friends sent me images showing how tiny Israel was quickly on pace to become the first country to overcome the Covid-19 crisis.
I felt proud. I don’t live in Israel, but as a Jewish person, I feel tremendous pride (whether I deserve to or not) when positive news comes out of Israel. The truth is, I get goosebumps.
