Senior Vice President of Education, Jerusalem U
Noam is the Senior Vice President of Education at Jerusalem U. He leads the education vision and implementation at Jerusalem U with a special focus on the development of meaningful content and resources for students and educators. He holds a doctorate in educational psychology from USC with a focus on curriculum design.
Founding director of the Wasatia Academic Institute
Mohammed is a Palestinian scholar born in Jerusalem where he currently lives. He was the founding director of the American Studies Graduate Program and General Director of Libraries at al-Quds University in Jerusalem. In 2007, he established the Wasatia moderate Islamic movement, which aims at promoting peace, moderation, reconciliation, coexistence, and interfaith dialogue. He gained international recognition for his extensive record in advancing awareness concerning peace education and Holocaust education. In March 2014, he became the center of heated controversy for leading 27 Palestinian students on a visit to the Nazi death concentration camp in Auschwitz. The Palestinian public outcry and death threats led to his resignation from his posts at the university.
