Help students explore Israel’s history and culture by creating a personal visual story, in collaboration with the National Library of Israel and the iCenter. This activity encourages students to explore Israel’s history and culture through primary sources, uncovering key themes, challenges, and achievements. By curating a visual story, they will reflect on their personal connection to Israel and its significance. Through discussion, they will consider how Israel’s past shapes its future, their perspective on Yom Ha’atzmaut, and their connection to Israel.

Student Goals

    1. Analyze the primary sources to understand key moments and themes in Jewish culture and Israeli history.
    1. Create a meaningful visual story that shares either a personal connection to Israel or a significant moment in its history.
    1. Reflect and discuss how Israel’s past connects to its present and future, and their connection to Israel.
